A New Salt Lake baby company

There’s a new company in town that just went live on Kickstarter and we thought we’d share with all the mothers, mothers to be, grandmothers and caretakers who follow us.

Poppy Products just launched the Poppy Mat and here’s what the co-founders wanted you to know about it.  Good Luck , Poppy Products!

Cousins and POPPY PRODUCTS founders Tanner Curtis and Josh Anderson have worked hard to bring the POPPY MAT to the world. (Both Tanner and Josh’s wives are expecting babies in the spring of 2018.)

The POPPY MAT is unlike any baby mat on the market and solves all the problems that accompany using other baby mats or not using them at all. “After more than two years of prototyping we are excited to show everyone what we have been building. Every parent needs a POPPY MAT in their diaper bag.” Says Curtis. “We have created the poppy mat to give you peace of mind knowing that the surface you lay your baby on is a clean one.”

PURPOSE: What job it does:

A baby mat that makes diaper changing time:

FEATURES: How it does it?

Each mat contains a concealed wire frame allowing the mat to be opened with one hand.

The mat always lays perfectly flat no matter what surface it is placed on… never folding over itself or wadding up like a swaddle or other changing mats.

When opened the mat is 18 inches wide and 24 inches in length making it the perfect size for any child in diapers.

The Poppy Mat is completely Waterproof allowing any accidents or messes to be easily cleaned up. Disinfecting the mat is effortless making your mat a guaranteed clean surface wherever or whenever you need it.

The mat is made of soft neoprene fabric with a foam bonded center providing your baby with the perfect amount of cushion while still remaining minimal and compact.

When folded up the mat is only 8 inches in diameter and comfortably fits in whatever diaper bag you prefer.

The Poppy mat is machine washable. A mesh pouch provided with each mat makes deep cleaning the mat as easy throwing it in the washing machine and then the dryer.

Cool new crafting tools!

We love finding creative Utah companies and recently we were introduced to Pen Blade.

New cool crafting knives for all sorts of projects. We’ve cut out crepe paper for flowers, fondant, paper initials and name cards. What’s cool about PenBlade is that they have different small knives that make cutting details a lot easier than using scissors.

We made this fun paper rose chandelier to change out during the holidays.  During October, we added some sugar skulls and next month we’ll add some leaves for Thanksgiving.

PenBlade is also selling 5 knives for only $10 this month so we thought we’d share!  Check out the uses for these fun tools below and let us know what you think!  To see the sale, click HERE.

Buy an elephant, support cancer research

We are excited to support the Kneaders Hope Fights Childhood Cancer campaign and all the good they’re doing.  Our grandparents both had cancer.  Our grandmother lived a long and happy life after her battle with breast cancer.  Our grandfather died when we were little at the age of 57 when Colon Cancer spread to all his organs.  He only lived 6 weeks after being diagnosed.  We’ve learned a lot about him and know that our dad is a lot like him but still wish that we could have know him personally and he could have seen us grow up.  He was kind, served everyone around him and worked hard to take care of his family.  He was loved my so many people.  Though we miss him, we know he’s watching over us and hope he’s proud of the people we are becoming.  We’re grateful for those who work so hard for cancer research and all their efforts to help those battling cancer.  We’ve watched friends and family battle through cancer or watch their children struggle with this and our hearts go out to them and all they go through.  We hope that by supporting this awesome campaign and spreading the word that we will be a step closer to positive and comforting answers for current and future cancer patients.  Read all about this awesome campaign and how you can help below!

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month and Kneaders is selling elephant cookies where all the proceeds are donated to support a special cancer research.

These cute little blue cookies are not only sweet to eat, but are also a symbol of the Kneaders #HopeFightsChildhoodCancer supporting the unique research of renowned hematologist, oncologist, teen cancer survivor and cancer researcher,
Dr. Josh Schiffman at Huntsman Cancer Institute. He is exploring how the 40 cancer fighting protein strands in elephant DNA might hold the key to ending childhood cancer for children across the globe. 100% of the sale of the cookie will go to support Dr. Schiffman’s innovative research. Want to take a bite out of cancer? Stop by a Kneaders near you or visit to view other adorable custom elephant retail items (available while supplies last) that all support Dr. Schiffman’s efforts. Your small show of support can bring BIG Hope to the fight to end cancer. We “knead” each other.

Did you know that elephants rarely get cancer? They have 40 cancer fighting protein strands in their DNA that help fight cancerous cells. Did you know that humans only have two cancer fighting protein strands? It’s #childhoodcancerawareness month and @kneaders has launched their #HopeFightsChildhoodCancer campaign. Kneaders is supporting the research of renowned oncologist, hematologist and cancer researcher, Dr. Josh Schiffman who is exploring how elephants might hold the key to ending cancer for children and adults of all ages.

Want to be part of the campaign too? Stop by a Kneaders near you to buy an adorable elephant shaped sugar cookie and eat your way to helping us raise $300,000 this month. 100% of the cookie sales go to Dr. Schiffman’s research and all the HOPE goes to kids fighting cancer throughout the world. Bandits Park City

Visit Bandits Grill and Bar Park City

Who needs a getaway type of date night this week?  I most defiantly do!  This week we are sharing one of our favorites with you, Bandits Bar & Grill on Main Street in Park City, Utah.  Why visit?

IMG_2343 Bandits Park City

  • Bandits Grill & Bar has delicious food that totally gives you a Utah experience.
  • Portions are HUGE and priced so well that you’ll be coming back over and over.
  • Wild Salmon Salad… I don’t think there’s anymore to say there other than… it’s perfection.  Alright, my husband would say he enjoyed it as well, however his mouth watering meal of choice is the 3 meat combo.  It’s incredible.  For the perfect experience, I’m going to say, get both and share.  Trust me.
  • While we’re on the food favorites subject… Their brownie dessert is pretty much heaven and also huge.  You say you don’t have room for dessert?  Well this is worth it, just share and then take an extra long walk around Park City after to make up for it 😉
  • Main Street Park City is my favorite place for date night.  The shops are beautiful, the scenery is breath taking and it always makes me feel like I’m on a mini vacation.  (If I could pick anywhere to live, it would be Park City.)

Bandits Park City

Visit Bandits an Main Street this week as a couple or with friends, you’ll be so glad you did!  Tell the Salt Sky sent you!

Thank Toni for an amazing meal!

XOXO, Brittany

Busy Bod Leos

Busy Bod Leos has done it right

We just discovered a new line of leotards for girls that we absolutely love and our girls can’t get enough of them.  They wear their Busy Bod Leos constantly around the house.  These cute leotards aren’t just for dance, the fabrics are so beautiful and that they look great with a skirt or shorts.  If you have girls like ours that would prefer to run around in their leotards or princess dresses all day then you have to get these.  They give the girls what they want to wear, but moms can be proud of how adorable they look when taken out in public.

Busy Bod LeosBusy Bod Leos

Busy Bod Leos was created by Hali Hansen.  She started this company because she was spending so much money on leotards and wanted them to be multipurpose.  So she created a pattern that fit well and looked great paired with some gorgeous fabrics.  These leotards are fully lined and have leg cuffs instead of elastic so they are very comfortable to wear.  And all these lovely fabrics are printed right here in the USA.

One of our lucky followers is going to win 1 FREE Busy Body Leo of their choosing!  To enter, visit our Instagram today.  Click here to see their full website and to get shopping.  Your little ones will be so happy when their Busy Bod Leos arrive!

5 splash pads for summer!
For Kicks & Giggles

5 splash pads to visit this summer

Summer vacation is here and with that comes some fun activities and a whole summer to play with the kids. We love summer vacation and we’re going to have lots of great ideas for you on the blog this season to keep the whole family entertained starting with 5 awesome splash pads that the kids will love.

Wardle Fields splash pad & Playground
This new splash pad is HUGE!  It’s full of water features, streams to play in and a full playground complete with zip lines.  There isn’t much shade so take a shade structure, treats, water and plenty of sunscreen.  Earlier is better for the crowds.  It is so fun and you’ll love it.

14148 South 2700 West, Bluffdale, UT

This is the place

This is the Place
This splash pad opened a couple of years ago and it is awesome. The water flows out of a big wall and shoots up all over the pad. We can’t ever pull the kids away from this one. I also like that there are steps on 2 sides of the splash pad to hang out and watch the kids under the trees.

city creek

City Creek Center
City Creek is a great place for mom and dad to shop and eat with a promise to the kids that they get to play in the splash pad at the end. Works like a charm! the splash pad at City Creek is small but I’ve never been there when it’s so busy that the kids can’t play. It’s located by the fountains. Shoes are mandatory at this splash pad and security will definitely remind you, so make sure you come with water shoes or flip flops that stay on tiny feet.

mountainview park

Mountainview Park
Mountainview Park is located in Cottonwood Heights 1651 Fort Union Blvd. This splash pad is huge and so fun but it is generally very busy. I’ve had my best luck going in the morning or evening with the family. It seems like around lunch time you’ll be there with the rest of the state but it’s such a fun place, the kids will want to come back to over and over again.

Downtown Salt Lake City at The Gateway is a big splash pad. It’s located at the north end of Gateway. It’s pretty and surrounded by red stone. There are lots of places for you to sit and watch the kids and they often have activities for kids to do and music playing. It’s a great one to try.

Grab some sunscreen, cute water shoes and get out and play! What is your favorite splash pad in Utah? Tag us in your next splash pad play date on instagram, we may just feature your favorites right here!

Have fun and enjoy the summer!
